Training calculators

Five calculators that give you a number worth acting on. Each one shows the formula it uses and where that formula comes from, so you can check the working. None of them ask for anything before they answer.

Composition Check

Waist-to-height and estimated body fat from two measurements, with the gap in kilograms rather than a score out of nothing.

Deficit Check

Maintenance calories, a deficit band, and the protein floor. No date attached to a kilogram, because that is not a number anyone can honestly give you.

Strength Standards

Turn a set of five into an estimated one-rep max, then see which of your three lifts is a tier behind the others.

Race Readiness

Projects your running from a 5k, then shows what the target you picked leaves you for the eight stations. Usually less than people expect.

Programme Builder

How many sessions your goal takes, how many need a coach, and whether the weeks you have are enough. It will tell you when they are not.

Why there is no BMI calculator here

BMI cannot tell the difference between muscle and fat, which makes it close to useless for anyone who trains. Every tool above uses a published formula and shows you both the formula and where it came from, so you can check the working rather than trust a black box.

None of them diagnose anything, and none of them replace a conversation with a coach or a doctor. They are there to give you a number worth acting on.
